When it comes to board games, there are various components that make gameplay an amazing experience. These components include the initial game concept, design, and mechanics. When passion and detail is given to these three components , some of the most immersive games are born.
At M4P, we don’t just love playing board games. We love sharing the art of board games by exploring all aspects of this fantastic world! We’re excited to announce that we are offering monthly workshops where board-game enthusiasts can learn to build their very own board-game world!
Have you played many dice-base games but are tired of using the same old boring dice? Join us for our Level 1 workshop, “Design Your Dice!” an exciting event where you can learn how to make your own custom board game dice!
Our event will be led by Julie Kim, a Vancouver-based mixed media artist that specializes in wood, resin, and synthetic materials, and a board game enthusiast herself! Julie will guide you through the process of designing and creating your own set of unique dice using a variety of materials. You'll learn how to craft dice of different shapes and sizes, and even add your own personalized designs and markings.
Whether you're a seasoned board game enthusiast or just looking for a fun and creative activity, this is the perfect event for you! Join us and unleash your imagination to create the perfect set of dice for your favorite board games.
Calling all Dungeon and Dragon players! Join us for DnD PawnCraft, a fun and interactive event where you can learn how to make your own custom pawns!
Featuring Christine and Nicola Lee, two board game specialists who love bringing life to their DnD characters. They will guide you through the process of designing and creating your own set of unique pawns by teaching you how to assemble and paint your miniatures to perfection!
In this workshop we will be using model pieces and paint sets by The Army Painter.
Whether you're a seasoned DnD player or just starting out, bring your character to life at our workshop! Join us and unleash your creativity to create the perfect pawns for all your epic adventures!
Join us for our "Build Your Own Board Game Workshop'' where you can create your very own board game from scratch. Let loose your creativity and design a game that is uniquely yours.
Board game engineer Selene Choi will guide you through the basics of storytelling and mechanics. You will receive guidance on how to bring your game to life using a range of design tools and materials. Participants will have the opportunity to brainstorm and pitch your game idea, design game mechanics and rules, and finally build a game using a variety of materials.
At the end of the workshop, you will have created a custom board game that you can take home and play with friends and family. If you have always wondered how a board game is made, this is an exciting opportunity to explore your creative side and learn more about the world of board game design.
